Good Intentions

I have written the first draft of a long poem in response to the prompt: Have you ever changed your name? I think that I want to work it up into something readable. Hopefully, a poem of some sort. And so this post is standing in until that day. Or I might come back later with a different poem instead.

I wonder if I can turn forty-plus lines into a tanka.  Or two.
